Benton Utilities, Benton, Arkansas will receive sealed bids on a General Contract for work consisting of but not limited to dredging of the Saline River Water Intake area. A weir is located downstream from the excavation. The deepest part of the existing channel is 4 to 8' below the top of the weir. The bottom of the completed channel will be 10.22' below the top of the weir. The work includes excavation and offsite disposal of approximately 4,424 cubic yards of unclassified material. The excavated area will be approximately 386' long and have a 50 to 63' bottom width with 1V:3H side slopes. Excavation limits may be decreased as required to stay within available funds. Excavated material shall be disposed of offsite at a location provided by the Owner.
NOTE: A pre-bid meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 24, 2010 at Benton Utilities, 1827 Dale Avenue, Benton, Arkansas. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is not mandatory, but all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend.
